Social Media has allowed me the opportunity to meet many outstanding leaders as well as some extraordinary organizations. This week, it is my pleasure to introduce all of you to THRIVE Center for Personalized Healthcare and Wellness (https://thrivecarolinas.com/). THRIVE offers a comprehensive approach to wellness challenging the status quo of healthcare in our country. From therapists and nutritionists to yoga instructors, Thrive pursues total wellness for their patients. I know you will be inspired by this cooperative led by three phenomenal women. See our interview below.

PBJ: Tell us about THRIVE.
THRIVE: THRIVE is the passion of Dr. Amy Fletcher & Dr. Nancy Palermo Lietz to deliver a specialized, integrative healthcare center providing individuals with an alternative to the conventional options currently present in the Charlotte area. We opened our doors in June 2017 after over two decades of providing excellent care in the community.
There is nothing else like Thrive in the area. We had spent several years looking at various practice models around the country and talking with colleagues from Integrative and Functional Medicine practices to solidify our plans. Thrive is a healing environment and offers many options for all kinds of patients. While we do individual consults and traditional visits, we also offer educational programs to the public for low to no cost. We are also expanding our virtual footprint with telemedicine, online educational presentations and Thrive Virtual Kitchen. We are working on developing group medical visits as well for 2020. Our goal to create a wellness community that fosters knowledge and empowers all individuals towards healthier lifestyles. We are also the only practice in the Charlotte area with 2 certified Functional Medicine providers.
PBJ: How is THRIVE different than other medical providers?
THRIVE: The staff at THRIVE consists of physicians and other healthcare providers specializing in Integrative Medicine, Functional Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine and Men’s & Women’s Health. The staff also includes Nutritionists, Certified Fitness Specialists, Chiropractors (Acupuncture), Clinical Psychologists Yoga Instructors, Massage & Bodywork Specialists and Licensed Aestheticians and Organic Skin care specialists.
We strive to form a partnership with our patients to optimize their health. Our unique and comprehensive approach to wellness will inspire clients to achieve vitality and balance in mind, body and spirit. We will provide this through excellent medical care, education and encouragement of self-care. We strive to be the catalyst for future health and wellness in the community
PBJ: How would you describe your leadership style?
THRIVE: We strive to lead the way and challenge the 21st century medical industry status
quo with our innovative and personalized practice model. Our goal is to put health, healing and the human experience back in medicine. We aim to bridge the gap of Eastern and Western medicine that allows optimal patient healing. As individuals, we also lead by example following the healthy diets and lifestyles we recommend to our patients. Our goal through leadership and example is to empower patients and foster a positive attitude about what they can do for their own health
PBJ: What is the greatest leadership lesson you have ever learned?
THRIVE: The healthcare landscape and practice of medicine is rapidly evolving. We had to embrace our vision of a newer model of healthcare delivery and take some risks as physicians, teachers, and leaders in this community. Good leaders are willing to embrace challenges and adversity in support of a valued goal. We recognize that we need to continually challenge ourselves to stay current with the ever changing medical landscape and data and will commit to this at THRIVE.
PBJ: How can our friends learn more about THRIVE?
THRIVE: While we do individual consults and traditional visits, we also offer educational programs to the public for low to no cost. We are also expanding our virtual footprint with telemedicine, online educational presentations and Thrive Virtual Kitchen. We are working on developing group medical visits as well for 2020.
